Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs a variety of coordination, production, problem solving, and education activities related to defined benefit and defined contribution reports, files, accounts, and participating employers. Uses technical, analytical, and communication skills to maintain accurate information and provide a high level of knowledge to participating employers.

             

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  1. Responds to employer questions regarding employer profiles and online information including authorizations, viewing access rights, site navigation, and tools.
  2. Responds to questions from employers regarding employer account balances and member accounts including balances, contributions, or years of service, etc.; conducts research to verify accuracy.
  3. Completes assigned weekly and monthly reports.
  4. Establishes new employer profiles upon Board approval.
  5. Oversees the public safety position approval process.
  6. Oversees annual Public Safety Certifications by employers and resolves discrepancies.
  7. Oversees the annual employer rate notification, certification, and employer profile review for all systems and plans.
  8. Composes and distributes communications to employers
  9. Assists in the recording of topic specific “How-To” videos and webinar creation and hosting for the URS website.
  10. Provides education for new employers and new employer contacts.
  11. Updates authorized employer contact listings based upon the annual profile review. Coordinates with other departments for any additional updates.
  12. Participates in the quarterly Employer Guide edit process.
  13. Assures adherence to Office policies in the Employer’s Guide, monitors guidelines and practices, and resolves technical issues. Implements processes and procedures designed to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of information and data flow.
  14. Coordinates required information between URS and participating employers to include service agreements, benefit protection contracts, employer profiles, and URS reports.
  15. Conducts one-on-one trainings at employer locations based on employer requests and needs. When appropriate, organizes a URS training team for employers.
  16. Reviews long-term disability policies for substantial equivalency and assists employers with the establishment and maintenance of long-term disability benefit protection contracts.
  17. Maintains strict confidentiality.
  18. Performs other related duties as required.

Required Experience

Education and Experience

High School diploma and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with customer service, public relations experience, computer operations, or similar progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required technical skills include the working knowledge and ability of:

  • Computer operations.
  • Adobe Connect.
  • Microsoft Office Suite – focusing in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm.

 

Required mathematical skills include working knowledge of:

  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s, using units of money.

 

Must possess excellent communication skills:

  • Read, analyze, and interpret common legal documents.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Provides clear and concise training to employer groups.
  • Clearly respond to questions from employers in a timely manner.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.

  • Communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.

 

Must have the ability to:

The incumbent must always demonstrate judgment, high integrity, and personal values consistent with the values of URS.

 

Work Environment

Incumbent performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require a variety of physical activities which do not generally involve muscular strain, but do require activities related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform essential functions. 

 

Job duties require occasional travel for office business.  Individual must be physically capable of safely operating a vehicle, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record based upon data provided by a current Department of Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
